Nudging Sustainability at Ferrero: A Governance Risk and Compliance Manager’s Journey
Viviane is one of our Ferrero Nudge Challenge participants whose experience with the programme has allowed her to exchange ideas, get inspired and inspire other young leaders from around the world. Viviane’s primary goal was to develop her leadership skills while enhancing her professional growth and impact, which she is doing by gaining access to different perspectives from all over the world. The Power of Small Changes
My project aims to raise sustainability awareness within Ferrero’s Asia Pacific region to better support Ferrero’s numerous initiatives towards sustainability goals. And the Nudge Impact Challenge has shown me the big impact positive changes can bring, even if they seem minor at the outset. This perspective has motivated me to further develop my impact plan because I realize that even small ideas can have a meaningful impact when applied consistently and thoughtfully. Recognizing that incremental improvements often contribute to a larger, transformative outcome has empowered me to take actionable steps toward my goals.
Forest Bathing
Interacting with participants from diverse backgrounds and learning about the issues they are addressing with their impact plans has provided me with a richer, more nuanced perspective on sustainability. One of the sessions that was particularly impactful was Forest Bathing in the Netherlands, which involved using the five senses to connect with nature. This session emphasized the importance of protecting and treasuring our natural environment, prompting me to reflect on how we treat nature in our daily lives.
Enhancing Operational Effectiveness
As a Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager at Ferrero, I fully intend to apply the skills and insights gained from the Nudge programme to enhance our processes. This programme has equipped me with valuable tools such as active listening, user-centric thinking, and the ability to implement incremental changes effectively. Thinking from the user's perspective also allows me to design processes that are intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly, ultimately improving the overall experience for everyone involved.
